A Wisdom Museum Exhibit
Exhibit, Print, and Poster Design
All across the world unique artforms and traditions are becoming extinct. With the rise of technology and advanced manufacturing processes, techniques and methods of creating art dating back all the way to ancient times are all but forgotten. With that in mind, the goal of this project was to design a museum exhibit to promote the dying art of Rogan painting. Rogan Painting, and other traditional handcrafted art forms, should be preserved because the skills required to create them foster attributes that are applicable to so many other areas of life; they teach patience, attention to detail, and the value of hard work. Furthermore, products made using handicraft methods tend to be more durable and long-lasting, promoting a more sustainable way of living. In addition the exhibit would create a space to sell Rogan art merchandise to generate revenue for the Khatri family in India, so they can continue creating and teaching the art form.

01
Exhibit
The rich history of Rogan Painting can be felt throughout the exhibit rooms, from the traditional Indian weddings to legacy of the Khatri family. Rogan Painting tapestries line the walls and ceilings, immersing the viewers in the colors and textures of the dying art form.

02
Coffee Table Book
The coffee table book tells the story of Rogan Painting as an artform, the symbols found in the paintings, the materials used, and the delicate and detailed process of creating the paintings. This is a great take-home item for visitors to remind them of the value of dying art forms, and encourage them to create their own art using the method described.

03
Poster
Created using a traditionally made Rogan painting, the poster embodies the exhibit aesthetic and entices the viewer to visit the museum to explore this unique and beautiful artform.
